Common Problems & FAQ

If you are having problems using Skype for Business, the Internet connection is the most likely cause. A poor Internet connection can cause low-quality audio/video, delays and dropped calls. During the webinar, the connection indicator is displayed and clicking it provides additional information. Depending on the severity of the problem, the icon can be gray, yellow or red. If you have slow connection try to improve your signal using an Ethernet cable or moving closer to the router to get a better signal and to close other programs. Consider that the link received by email to connect to the webinar will not expire even if you have to reconnect from another device.

What do I do if I cannot hear?

In the Skype for Business main window, go to Options > Audio device, and then choose the device you want. Click the green arrow next to Speaker to hear a sample tone, and drag the slider if you need to adjust the volume.

What do I do if I cannot see the slides?

If you cannot see a shared document drop the call and reconnect. If you are using mobile device try to connect with a laptop.

NB: Android devices may have some difficulties in viewing the presentation material during the webinar. We therefore suggest to you to use your laptop or an iOS mobile phone. Should this not be possible, please consider that the audio and the chat tool should be not compromised on Android devices, and that the presentation material will be available for downloading on the emos2020events.ec.unipi.it website.
